In October of 2009 Mac acquired the North Side Inksmith & Rogers Tattoo shop, our current location, where he spent the prior 12 years creating some of Jacksonville's finest quality tattoos. With no intentions of leaving his already established clientele for another Inksmith location, Shrunkin Head Tattoo was born.

As tattooing becomes increasingly popular and accepted worldwide, the industry has become saturated with "instant tattooers" and "scratchers," un-experienced, untrained, often times untalented individuals who have found access to the tools needed to perform the tattoo procedure. With no fundamental art background or experience, these scratchers at an epidemic rate are destroying not only the industry itself; they are ruining lives by uncaringly inking horrible, atrocious, permanent tattoos on the precious skin of people of all ages. Our goal at Shrunkin Head Tattoo is to provide you with not only amazing permanent body art, but to educate you about the tattoo process. We may not be able to give you the price an inferior artist, or the guy in his Momma's kitchen may quote you, but it is a guarantee we will give you a beautiful piece of artwork that will far surpass the quality of the cheap shit that may have brought you to us for a cover up in the first place. We encourage you to be patient, if you can't afford what you really want right now, keep saving. A tattoo should be thought of as a permanent piece of artwork that you will wear on your body forever, therefore you should spare no expense when it comes to getting a quality tattoo from an experienced professional.
